Hey guys! I’m going to keep this one pretty short and sweet. I thought it would be helpful for some of you guys to know the pieces in my wardrobe that I’ve worn the most this year. I love fun statement pieces, but (as hard as it may be sometimes), it’s important to shop for basics. Soooo, without further adieu, let’s get started!
1. Athleisure
All anyone wears to class is workout clothes. Lululemon, Athleta, and Spilts 59 are my favorites if you want to splurge. ThredUp has a lot of these really nice brands at HUGE discounts as well. I have also made it a habit of going through the workout sections at stores like Marshalls. The prices are great, and I have found some awesome pieces in there! Perfect for class or the gym!
2. Denim Skirts
…or any type of miniskirt! I have a lot of statement skirts that I love, but you really can’t go wrong with a good denim skirt. Also, no one wears shorts on a regular basis here. Whether you’re going to brunch, dinner, a party, etc., people will typically wear skirts, pants, or dresses. Here are some denim skirts I have that I love:
3. Black Jeans
Simply, a staple.
4. Gray Jeans
Another staple that needs no explanation.
5. Denim Jacket
A denim jacket is probably the most versatile article of clothing in the entire world. Mine is vintage, but this one from Topshop is pretty similar.
6. Leather Jacket
As if you couldn’t tell from my Instagram, I’m obsessed with this jacket. I wear it at all the time. Blank NYC has the CUTEST leather jackets ever. This one is also vegan, so you won’t feel guilty wearing it!
7. Black Over-the-Knee Boots
These are such a great investment. I personally find them very flattering and get so much use out of them. They’re extremely popular right now for girls in college.
8. Comfy Heels
It’s a smart idea to have a black and a brown pair of go-to heels that are comfortable to go out in. Also, you really don’t anything too fancy. Odds are, you will probably either step in something gross or have something spilled on you over the coarse of the night.
9. Sneakers
I have a couple pairs of sneakers like this, and I love them! They’re so easy and extremely versatile. Slip-on sneakers are also very popular among college girls.
