My Dorm Room! (Back-to-School Series 2017)

Hey, guys!  Wow, I am so sorry about how MIA I have been lately.  As many of you know, the first week of college is just about the most overwhelming thing in the world — but in the absolute best way!  I really love blogging, and I am going to try my hardest to post on here once a week.  I’ve been posting about once a week for the past month, and it seems pretty do-able.  HOWEVER, life does get in the way sometimes, so just remember, you guys are still a priority for me!

I had so much fun putting this room together with my roommate and am so happy about how it turned out!  Our main goal was to make it super home-y, and I definitely think we accomplished that!  We both love spending time and relaxing in here.  Lucky for us, her mom is an interior designer, so we were able to get some really nice pieces at amazing prices.  Unfortunately, I don’t know which retailers carry the pieces we purchased that were discounted, but I will let you guys know the names of the companies.

We both are super girly, so we decided on a theme of white, gray, pink, and mixed metals.  It is very important to be communicative with your roommate during this process if you decide to match.  We knew each other before-hand, so that part was easy.  We made two google documents: one with what we needed and one with what we had purchased.  This also helps to make sure that everything in your room matches.

So, without further adieu… my dorm room!!

It is absolutely essential to hang up pictures of back home!  Being able to wake up and see the faces of my family and friends makes me feel more like I’m at home.

SMU actually has its own fashion magazine called LOOK.  I think it is just about the coolest thing ever!

This desk bookshelf is one of my favorite purchases for this room!  Its gave us so much more space and storage.  My essential oil diffuser, reed diffuser, and room spray are also so nice to have in my dorm to keep it smelling nice and fresh.  We can’t have candles, so these are a happy medium!

How cute is this?! My friend Sadie gave this to all of my friends for a graduation present! Each of the dark blue states represent where we are in college.  She made this BY HAND.  Such a special piece to have in my room!  *Great idea for next year’s grad season if you’re feeling crafty!*

This part of my room obviously isn’t very photogenic, but I can’t tell you how nice it is to have these curtains covering our closets (which are absolute disasters (as you can imagine with both my roommate and me being shop-a-holics).

A little behind-the-scenes of these pictures!  My friend started taking pictures of me, and I thought these were pretty funny.  Sorry for sitting on your bed, Sarah! 😉
