Project 615 started back in 2010 after founders Matt Blinco and Derek Evans took a trip to Los Angeles, California and witnessed the overwhelming homeless population of Skid Row. Deeply impacted by this experience, the founders knew they wanted to make a difference back home in Nashville, or the 615 to natives. Thus, one of my favorite local companies was born. Project 615 sells apparel for men and women (mainly t-shirts). The company not only gives some profits back to different causes in the Nashville community but also gives many jobs to those recovering from addiction.
Over the course of 8 years, Project 615 has given around $300,000 away to charities in my area.
How cool is that?! Read more about their story here.

P.S. My little sister Lydia was so generous to help me out with this post. Love you Lyd Loo! C’mon… how beautiful is she?! She’s 13 btw. How? I have no idea.

I’m planning on sharing more brands like Project 615 with you all in the future. I love being able to help out my community, and I’m sure you all do too! I know I get overwhelmed sometimes by seeing homelessness and poverty just like Matt and Derek did when they were in L.A. It makes me feel powerless! These two men were courageous enough to create an amazing thing, but you do not have to start a company to make an impact in your community. Supporting local companies and charities makes such a big difference, whether you realize it or not.
Let’s make this new year one full of giving!
